Weaving Magic into Your Milestones
Life’s moments are whispers of enchantment, waiting to be transformed into cherished tales. Let me help you capture the extraordinary within the ordinary, creating ceremonies as unique and beautiful as your story.
Our Commitment to Equality & Respect
At Carolyn – Making Memories, I believe every celebration should be a joyous and welcoming experience for everyone involved. My commitment to equality and fairness is at the heart of everything I do.
I promise to provide a service that is free from discrimination and to treat everyone with dignity and respect. This means I will not offer less favorable facilities or treatment based on:
- Age
- Disability
- Sex, gender (identity and expression)
- Marriage or civil partnership status
- Race, ethnic origin, color, nationality, or national origin
- Religion or belief
- Sexual orientation
This commitment aligns with the principles of the Equality Act 2010.
I am firmly opposed to all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination and bias.
My commitments include:
-
- Creating an environment where individual differences are recognized, valued, and celebrated.
- Promoting dignity and respect in all interactions.
- Zero tolerance for any form of intimidation, bullying, or harassment.
- Actively challenging and confronting such behavior should it arise.
- Continuously undertaking personal development training to stay informed.
- Keeping abreast of new developments in society and the wedding industry regarding inclusive language and behavior.
- Promoting equality within my own work, among fellow celebrants, and with wider industry colleagues.
Our Anti-Harassment Policy
Sadly, like many professionals working in the wedding industry, I’m aware that some suppliers can face inappropriate behavior during events. I believe it’s essential to clearly state that harassment and inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated while I am working to create your special memories.
To ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that all guests and other suppliers behave appropriately towards me and anyone accompanying or shadowing me on your wedding day.
What constitutes inappropriate behavior? This includes, but is not limited to, any unwanted physical touching, verbal harassment (including unwanted personal questions), taking or using my equipment without consent, and any behavior that is inappropriate towards a person in their workplace.
Should an issue arise:
- If I or my colleagues experience any inappropriate, threatening, hostile, or offensive behavior, I will inform you (or a nominated member of your wedding party, if you prefer) on the day and ask for the behavior to stop immediately.
- If the behavior continues after I have raised the issue, I reserve the right to leave the venue for my own safety or the safety of my colleagues.
- While this would be a last resort, I am entitled to work without harassment. In cases where the behavior is severe (e.g., sexual or physical assault) or continues despite a complaint, and I feel obliged to leave, no refund will be provided for any reduced hours.
I kindly request that you inform your guests and other suppliers about this anti-harassment policy ahead of your wedding. This helps ensure everyone understands that you take this matter seriously and that harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
By upholding these commitments, I strive to be an inclusive, welcoming, and dedicated supplier, working to the best of my ability to make your event truly special.
